Rien ne laissait pr\u00e9sager l\u2019horreur qui allait s\u2019abattre sur cette petite ville c\u00f4ti\u00e8re r\u00e9put\u00e9e pour sa tranquillit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 9h17, tout a bascul\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un v\u00e9hicule gris, aux vitres teint\u00e9es, s\u2019est gar\u00e9 brusquement devant le bureau de poste. Un homme grand, au visage dissimul\u00e9 par une casquette et une \u00e9charpe sombre, en est sorti. Au d\u00e9but, personne n\u2019a vraiment r\u00e9agi. Mais il avait une allure \u00e9trange. Trop nerveuse. Deux employ\u00e9s se sont pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9s vers la sortie, le visage bl\u00eame. \u00ab Il a une arme ! \u00bb, a hurl\u00e9 l\u2019un d\u2019eux. La panique s\u2019est aussit\u00f4t empar\u00e9e de la rue. Certains passants se sont r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s dans les commerces. D&#8217;autres, fig\u00e9s, regardaient sans comprendre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais ce que personne ne savait encore, c\u2019est que l\u2019homme en question n\u2019\u00e9tait pas un simple braqueur. C\u2019\u00e9tait <strong>Jean-Michel Varennes<\/strong>, un criminel activement recherch\u00e9 depuis plus de six ans, \u00e9vad\u00e9 de prison apr\u00e8s une s\u00e9rie d\u2019agressions violentes et de vols \u00e0 main arm\u00e9e. Consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme dangereux et instable, il avait myst\u00e9rieusement disparu des radars\u2026 jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce matin-l\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La police, alert\u00e9e par une alarme silencieuse d\u00e9clench\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du bureau de poste, a mis en place un p\u00e9rim\u00e8tre en quelques minutes. Une cellule de crise a \u00e9t\u00e9 imm\u00e9diatement activ\u00e9e. \u00c0 9h34, des n\u00e9gociateurs \u00e9taient sur place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais l\u2019homme n\u2019a rien voulu entendre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, trois otages. Dont une femme enceinte de huit mois. Le temps semblait suspendu. Les riverains retenaient leur souffle. Les minutes s\u2019\u00e9tiraient, insupportables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Et puis, soudain, \u00e0 10h21, tout a explos\u00e9 dans un fracas de verre et de cris. Un coup de feu. Puis deux. Puis le silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quand les agents d\u2019\u00e9lite sont finalement intervenus, ils ont trouv\u00e9 les otages indemnes, recroquevill\u00e9s dans un coin. Jean-Michel Varennes \u00e9tait au sol, bless\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9paule, d\u00e9sarm\u00e9. Il n\u2019avait pas tir\u00e9 sur les otages.
